We will keep you informed as we launch new and exciting tools to enhance your web presence. What does it cost to join? Joining is free, and we will never charge for simply being a member of the network. The network is free, how do you plan to make money? We plan on keeping the network a free resource for both real estate professionals and consumers. In the future we will provide additional value added services for our members. But in the near term our focus is on building great a resource for the real estate industry. Are you a lead generator? No, we are not a lead generation company in the traditional sense. We do not and will not generate leads to be sold back to our members. We believe in helping real estate professionals succeed rather than putting up additional barriers between the consumer and the agent. I already have my own web site, why should I create a Real Estate Profile? Your Real Estate Profile on the network can be used to augment and direct traffic to your existing web site. By incorporating a link back to your full web site in your profile it will help enhance your search engine rankings as well as directly drive buyers and sellers to your site. What is profile scoring? We've incorporated a unique scoring system into the ActiveRain Real Estate Network to reward contributing members. When you create your profile it is automatically scored based on thoroughness, and also will be manually scored by a reviewer for quality. What do points mean for me? The more points you have the more heavily promoted your profile will be on our network, one example being the featured profiles. As we expand our network of sites there will be dozens of other highly visible places where top scoring profiles will be featured. There may also be other uses for points as the network matures - the concept is to reward members who contribute to building the community. How do I become a featured agent? You can get a featured profile by having a higher score than the other profiles in your market area. For example, the top two profiles in a city will be featured on a page for that city, top two in a county on the county page, two in a state on the state page, etc. If you want to become the featured agent you have to earn more points by creating a quality profile or contributing to the growth of the network. How do I earn points? We will be adding dozens of additional ways for members in our network to earn points by contributing to our network, from helping us increase membership to creating unique content. You can check the Scoring FAQ for a complete list of ways to earn points at this time. How do I suggest new features? We always welcome feedback from our members and will strive to incorporate suggestions into the ActiveRain Real Estate Network. You can leave feedback using the "feedback" link at the footer of every page or emailing support@activerain.com. How do I add links to the right side of my blog page. Each link you wish to set up to the right of your blog page requires two elements.
I've been blocked from sending emails via the contact form, Why? ActiveRain works hard to prevent the sending of junk mail. Mail that is of an impersonal or advertising nature that is sent for the purpose of promoting a product or service. We take these matters very seriously and the membership does not appreciate it. In those instances we move to block you from sending further messages. Please email support if you should have any further questions regarding this. I don't see my profession listed. Can I join? The ActiveRain Real Estate Network is a place for professionals who work in the Real Estate Industry and their companies. We encourage members to join from many different parts of the community. There is a section available for those professionals that don't see themselves represented in the main categories. "Real Estate Other" is the category designation. If a large group of members should join that could fit under a separate category all together then we will adopt a new one. Just write support with your request. I have not received my activation email. I'm not activated. When you first signed up for ActiveRain you should have received a message in your email with a link to activating your account. This should have been received in your email in box within 5 minutes of signing up. If you have not received this message the it is likely in your junk folders for your email account. If you still have not received this message please contact support with the email address you used when you signed up. How do I upload photos to a profile? Adding a photo to your profile is very important. It helps readers identify and remember you.
That’s it you’ve uploaded a photo to your profile. How do you choose the featured blog post? Featured posts are choosen by a group of moderators on ActiveRain (their are currently about a dozen moderators). They try to choose posts that will appeal to a wide range of real estate professionals, are well written, and will generate conversation. We strive for diversity when choosing featured posts. What is Localism? Real estate as an industry is regional and the most important asset that real estate professionals bring to their table is they local knowledge. We've created Localism.com as a proof of concept site to help our members showcase their regional knowledge and reach out to consumers. More information on Localism and Localism.com I've forgotten my login/user name or password. From the log in page at ActiveRain.com there is a link that reads "Forgot your password?" Clicking on that link will enable you to use your email address (the one you use in ActiveRain) or your user name to have your account information sent to you. You should receive a response in under 5 minutes. Be sure to check your junk folders or your junk filtering tools if you don't see that email. You can also always search for yourself via your email address to find your profile which will show your user name in the URL. I signed up and want to edit my profile but I don't know how. If you've signed up and activated your account and you're having troubles editing your account it's likely you've been logged out. Be sure to go to the link at the top right of http://www.activerain.com that reads "log in." From there you will be able to log in. Once logged in on the left side of the page there is a link that reads "Edit My Profile." You will be able to edit your profile from there. I'm logged in but I can't figure out how to edit my profile. Upon log in you will be taken to the My Home dashboard which shows you statistics and your messages. If you look to the left there is a list of links that reads "Edit My Profile." Clicking there will enable you to update your profile. I work in many areas, how can I be posted in all of them? It is best for you to pick one city to place yourself in. Generally the primary city you do business in. You will have opportunities to participate in other cities through your blogs by talking about the other areas you work in. There is an "about city" section of ActiveRain that will enable you to do this. Here are two excellent examples of what some members have done. In addition any listings you submit will be able to be submitted for what ever town they are in. How can I add an RSS feed to my blog? At this time ActiveRain Blogs do not accept RSS feeds although they can send feeds through the links located at the bottom of your blog page. I do a google search and when I click on my blog I see "Members Only" posts? A number of members have reported seeing this, but they see the "Members Only" posts because they are still logged into ActiveRain when they click on their blog. If you have concerns about this try the following.
